Kessel Memorial

The Reuvers Bulldogs had donated 70 Euros towards the Memorial which has set up for the crew of a Lancaster Bomber that was shot down, crashing into the Maas at Kessel on 21st July 1944. 6 of the 7 young crew members were killed. The memorial was unveiled on the 21st July 2011. Some of the family members of the brave crew were found and attended the unveiling, a very emotional occasion. If you are in the area have a look at the plaque mounted just below the terrace of De Boemel, next to the Castle.
